Dear friends and fellow operators,

Quick status check-in. Parts production is moving steadily again and I’m transitioning from machining into final assembly and finishing. The next run of keys is underway.

One important change going forward: Modern Morse is moving from limited drops to a preorder system.

I was getting a large number of emails asking for a waitlist, but managing that manually wasn’t sustainable and I don’t want anyone getting lost in the shuffle. Instead, preorders are now open.

Here’s how it works as an example:

• A $15 preorder reserves your place in line
• The remaining balance of $235 (for a total of $250 per set of paddles) is charged automatically only when your key is built and ready to ship (plus taxes and shipping)
• Preorders are fulfilled in the order they are received

A few additional notes as we head into this next run:

• Machines are running parts daily and inventory is rebuilding
• Six color options are currently available
• Colors may be reduced to three standard options in the future as we see what proves most popular
• Composite finger pieces are now a standard option, will be added to the catalog in the next couple days
• Replacement part kits are still in progress and will follow shortly

As always, I’m focused on keeping quality high and not rushing work just to hit arbitrary dates. These keys are built to be used hard, not hurried out the door.
